Today is actually an off day, but....
Yesterday was just difficult to get anything done. My scheduled run didnt happen.
So, today I run. Still in adaptation phase, so an easy 10k, at an easy pace.

Tri-mind fuel
Listening to the deeper voice within you requires a place where you can hear it.
2.4 mile swim
112 mile bike
26.2 mile run
Triathlon is the place where I can hear my deeper voice.
It is my place of serenity,
of sanctuary,
where I can retreat from the world's demands,
find solace, and listen to the whisper of my own voice.
It's the only place where it can be heard.
This is why I Tri.
Sept 8-Training sched.
Was a really relaxed training day. When it is less intense, I sometimes feel guilty. The "no pain-no gain" mentality. I have to "hurt" to make gains.
Not true.
Just a 40 minute, easy pace run.
ran about 7 km.
I have to keep reminding myself i am adapting my body to a heavier workload, gradually.

Tri-Mind Fuel
20 feet ahead.
Narrow your focus. In the middle of a race and feel like giving up?
This trick works very well.
As I was cycling through my last IM 70.3 race, I noticed that when I focused on the top of the hill, I seemed to gear down, settle in, and slug it out to the top. I also noticed that I was passed alot by other racers.
There were hills which I focussed my gaze at about 20 feet ahead on the pavement.
I noticed I climbed faster, that I was passing others.
Rather than focussing on the BIG goal, chunk it down. Focus on the next 20 feet.
It is a strange phenomenon, but works very well for triathlon motivation, especially in a race.
Sept 4-Training Sched
Well, I slacked a little for 2 days.
Life stress. ugggg
Back to it.
Today is a peak resistance ride.
So 55 min ride, followed by 5 min on small chain ring, followed by 10 min cool down.

stress and training
I have had such an incredible stress load.
Death and divorce, the big 2. The biggest issues we deal with, and I am doing them at the same time.
It is like a weight, a lingering presence.
There is a physical toll to stress. I feel numb all the time.
Doctor said it might be MS. I don't think so, just stress.
Today I found some peace.
In my 24th lap, as I was swimming, I felt peace.
I didnt feel the weight, for a brief moment.
When I got out of the pool, it returned again. While I was in the water the stress of my life was gone.
When I am on my bike, or while I am running, the stress is gone.
Why I wonder?
